SummaryChina is trying to balance their population by getting rid of the one child policy. But Chinese people still prefer to have one child because its more economically affordable. Gender roles play a major role for the repeal of the one child policy. Young males outnumber the female population "Chinese had 118 boys for every 100 girls"(Hvistendahl)."With fewer potential mothers after so many abortions of females, there will be fewer children"(Hvistendahl).Getting the policy repeal will have little effect on gaining more females since boys are consider to be more valuable than girls. Leaving many young Chinese males without partners."The shortage of marriageable women has had other disquieting social implications. There has been a spike in sex trafficking and bride buying. The excess men, uninvolved in family life and less tethered to social institutions, have contributed to government leaders’ fears of instability" (Hvistendahl). Increase the numbers of human trafficking. Without females the young males buy bribes and increase the number of sex slaves The one child policy has put China's population out balance having too many young males without mates to have offsprings.

China getting rid of their one child policy is not helping because Chinese people still prefer to have one kid preferably a boy. We are learning about population and how its a factor that contributes to environmental issues. China is an example on how to control human population growth. The problem with China is that they value boys more than girls.Making many women aborted their female child and trying to have a boy. I don't like that women are value less.As a girl I believe girls are valuable because they are capable of carrying a human being for nine months! Can guys do that? Nope! So I don't understand why guys are more value than girls. Did you the child's first educator is her/his mother. Since education is vital to become successful; women should be value more than any species in the world.
