TB is a treatable disease. In 2000 43 millions were saved because they had TB intervention. But the death rate by this disease is still high."It found that 6 million new cases of TB were reported to the WHO in 2014, fewer than two thirds of the 9.6 million people worldwide estimated to have fallen sick with TB last year."(Steenhuysen). Another thing to address is that TB is not getting founding like HIV and AIDS,"Raviglione said, noting that international funding for HIV/AIDS is 10 times higher than for TB, with $8 billion spent on HIV/AIDS interventions, compared with a total of $800,000 spent on TB"(Steenhuysen).TB is a big issue as well as HIV/AIDS. The founding should be the same to for the diseases.
My Reflection |
I think that all people should be given a chance to live that's why I think we should have the same amount of money to support TB centers that treat people. We must provide vaccines to third world countries to combat this disease, unlike HIV, TB is treatable. Every human should get the vaccine to prevent the contraction of this diseases. We must start donating to organizations that are non-profit that help third world countries. Getting treatment for TB might not be easy because they don't have access to medicine.
